The Naval Technology Seminar 2009 (NTS 2009) will again be organised by the Republic of Singapore Navy as part of the IMDEX Asia Series and will be held concurrently with IMDEX ASIA 2009.
This international seminar, which was first launched in 1992, has attracted an international audience of senior naval officers, directors and professionals from defence related industries, R&D institutions and universities.
The seminar offers a unique opportunity for interaction and discussion with participants and speakers and provides a platform for sharing knowledge on the latest developments in the area
of naval technologies.
Last year's seminar theme was on ‘New Environment, New Technology, New Capability’ and it promoted the pooling of resources and ideas to harness the technical innovations and research in the following fields:
New Hull Forms
New Generation Materials
Human Centric Design
Hydrodynamics
Unconventional Propulsion
Survivability
Submarines
Twenty seven technical papers revolving on the theme New Environment, New Technologies,
New Capabilities were presented by various major defence organisations, academic institutions, class societies, OEMs and shipbuilders over the two days.
More than 500 technologists and engineers from various navis and institutions attended the seminar.
